Keg Party for a New Dad

May 2, 2010 by

DadLabs is taking up the mantle of stamping out fatherhood injustices. In this Lab, the dads propose that fathers should have a baby shower as well. Expecting moms get a bash, dad’s should do one better since a new baby setup for a dad can get kind of expensive with all the latest baby gear. Shower ideas include a golf tournament, poker tournament, or a keg party. These baby showers for men are a great way to give baby stuff and other gifts for dad. DadLabs Ep. 277 The Lab. using the stroller for golf? that is a good idea!
those fathers, though, forgot that the word “baby shower” must include the baby word… they threw it away and replaced with “dude shower”, which is basically every friday… :)

I would suggest not throwing a kegger AROUND the expectant mom….
we kinda get upset when dads go out of their way to get sloshed when we can’t, lol.

Where I live we have pamper parties for guys, no need for the guy friends to have to pick out the right gift, they just bring a box of diapers, every baby needs those!

DadLabs, you rock. Thank you for hammering away at the gender barriers in our society. It’s about time we all realized gender-based inequalities aren’t just a women’s issue. I hope there’s a rash of enlightened dads throwing “baby keggers” in the near future!!

    We’re down with …
We’re down with minimalism when it comes to baby gear, but did find that more stuff on the go was sometimes called for. Pacifier, toys, maybe a blanket, bib or clothes. A bag still seems like a good idea.

    Advice for New Dads …
    Advice for New Dads:
    1. Diaper Bag? What for? Just how many diapers are you going to need? You grab a couple diapers, a few wipes (stored in sealed bag or a wipe container running low) and you are set.
    2. Baby carriage? You’ll only use it the first couple of months, so don’t go for expensive. Go for practicality.
